Contemporary Singing Lessons

Singing Lessons are a safe space for you to discover how your voice works and how you can use it to healthily and freely express yourself through songs.

They are structured as follows:

  • Singing is a full body experience. Unlike all other musicians, our musical instrument is part of our own body. It is only when our muscles are relaxed and warmed up that our voice can be really free to reach its full potential.

  • Without breathing we cannot sing and without breathing properly, we cannot sing properly. During our lessons, particularly at the beginning of our journey together, we will work on establishing good breathing habits and developing breath management skills, observing and understanding how the way we breath can affect our voice.

  • A good vocal warm up should always make up 10-20 minutes of a singing lesson or a singing practice session. Our vocal tract is full of small muscles, the warmer and more hydrated they are, the better we will be able to sing.

  • In my lessons I like to have a clear distinction between technical exercises and vocal warm ups. While a vocal warm up should be relatively easy and based on scales and sounds that don't challenge your voice too much, a new technical exercise should always be challenging as it has the goal to help you improve your vocal habits and develop your vocal technique further.

  • Finally my favourite part of the lesson. Depending on what your goal is, you will be able to work on your performance technique, prepare for exams and auditions or just simply have fun singing your favourite songs.

Piano Lessons

Contemporary & Classical

Piano Lessons are available for students of all ages, from beginners and up to grade 5 level pianists.

Depending on your musical tastes you can choose among:

  • This lessons will provide you with a comprehensive knowledge of all the elements essential to play the piano. In particular you will learn how to read notes on the musical staff, how to recognise and play rhythmic patterns and how to develop your right and
left hand coordination. Scales and arpeggios will become your best friends and you will have the chance to explore classical piano works from some of the greatest composers of all times.

  • If you like pop, rock, blues, soul or country music and this is what you would like to play, then contemporary piano lessons are what you are looking for. You will learn how to read music, play chords and understand the syncopated rhythms and groove of modern songs. During the lessons we will also give space to improvisation as well as developing your creativity as a musician.

  • Would you like to learn how to accompany yourself while singing? Or maybe you want to be able to play your vocal technique exercises to make sure you are singing the right notes? In these lessons you can learn how to orientate yourself on a keyboard, how to play scales, chords and arpeggios and how to create simple piano arrangements for your favourite songs.

Music Theory Lessons

Studying Music Theory means studying the language musicians use to communicate. It means learning how to read, write and speak Music. If you sing or play an instrument, these lessons will help you turn into a well rounded musician.

You will learn how to:

  • Learn the alphabet of music. With these lessons you will learn how to recognise notes, rhythm patterns and musical symbols. This way you will become able to read and understand any music sheets.

  • Studying Music Theory won’t only allow you to have a better understanding of what you play or sing; it will also provide you with some of the main tools needed to compose original songs. If you ever dreamed of writing your own music, these lessons will help you kickstart the journey.

  • Music Theory is the set of rules, principles, words and symbols that musicians use to speak about the music they play, write and listen to. If you want to be a musician knowing how to speak music is going to make your life much easier.
